This Charter has been developed by a group representing the protected areas, the tourist; industry and their partners. The charter is in line with the world-wide and European priorities as expressed in the recommendations of Agenda 21 adopted at the Rio Conference, and by the European Union 5th Action Programme for sustainable development. Its purpose in to act as a standard and guideline helping each signatory to develop high quality, sustainable tourism. The charter consists of 5 sections.
