Biologically Acceptable Limit

DEFINITION
  • A value of a critical biological indicator (e.g. spawning biomass) considered as the limit below which the stock sustainability cannot be ensured, or below which the probability of a negative outcome (e.g. stock collapse) is unacceptable. Also referred to as Biologically Safe Limit.
